5 New Year’s Resolutions For Your Hotel

Just like the old saying goes: “New Year, new you!” It’s never too early or too late to start making positive changes. The hospitality industry has been in an ongoing state of flux over the last two years and while times have not always been easy, hotel staff have shown an incredible ability to step up to the plate and adapt to challenging situations. As we move forward into the new year, here are a few resolutions your hotel can make to continue to improve the lives of both hotel guests and staff!

Do more with less.

Staffing shortages were one of the biggest issues that hotels struggled with last year and unfortunately, it doesn’t look like that trend is going away anytime soon. The good news is that there are things your hotel can do to lessen the burden on overworked staff, such as utilizing technology in order to boost productivity and improve communication. Quore is a great tool to keep hotel staff engaged and make their jobs easier in the process! We’re passionate about supporting hospitality workers and are constantly updating our technology so that hotels can keep up with the ebbs and flows of the industry.

Prioritize guest satisfaction.

How do we define “hospitality” in an increasingly contactless and mobile-first world? That’s a question we should all be thinking about in light of the recent changes to our industry, where traditional elements of guest satisfaction like regular face-to-face contact and personalization have evolved. How can we redefine what hospitality means as guests’ needs change? Consider how you can make your guests feel at home while also prioritizing their safety. Perhaps it’s a personalized message, responding quickly to complaints, or going out of your way to ensure all of their needs are met. Small changes can make a big difference!

Make budgeting a breeze.

While it’s still early on in the year, now is the best time to start preparing for budget season! Budgeting is often stressful and some managers spend weeks combing through paperwork, but it doesn’t have to be that way! Quore’s CapEx app is a great way to take the stress out of budget season by helping you map out your budget and set up approval workflows. If you begin using CapEx now, you’ll get even more valuable information come budget season and you can even forecast for up to 15 years out!

Stay on track with PMs.

Preventative maintenance is one of the most important programs for hotels to remain consistent with because it helps you avoid issues down the line by fixing problems before they happen. A well-maintained HVAC system is far less likely to break than one that’s rarely or worse, never serviced. Following a detailed and consistent preventive maintenance schedule will save your hotel both time and money, as well as improve guests’ overall experience. Fewer broken assets mean fewer guest complaints. Quore’s PM app makes it easy to stick to a PM schedule, run Item Reports on your inventory, and gain insights so you can track and identify areas that need improvement.

Maintain health and safety protocols.

Health and safety have never been a bigger priority for hotels than it is right now. While hotel staff members are well-versed in all things coronavirus-related at this point, it’s still important to maintain vigilance. Quore has added many features to help hotels manage coronavirus protocols, like our log sheets and brand-specific cleaning checklists. Our app is completely customizable so that your hotel can always keep up with the latest coronavirus safety measures to ensure that guests and staff stay safe.

This is a brand new year with exciting possibilities! With travel rebounding, there’s a lot for the hospitality industry to look forward to. Together, we can all work to ensure that next year is the best year yet.
